Salvador Oregel-Valencia
Organizer (he/him)
Salvador is a first-generation immigrant who migrated from Michoacan, Mex at age 5 to the South East Side of Stockton, CA and the first to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from CSU Sacramento. Raised in South Stockton, Sal quickly learned the disparities of growing up with the impacts of being surrounded in a marginalized and socioeconomically disenfranchised community to socio-economic status, opportunity and quality of life. His values were implemented from his farm worker parents and led to a realization in interest in labor and becoming an advocate for workers’ rights. During college he spent his senior year as an intern for California Rural Legal Assistance helping farm workers in cases involving wage theft, retaliation and sexual harassment. He is now an Organizer with the North Valley Labor Federation and enjoys spending time with family, traveling, eating good foods, and feeling nostalgic to retro media.
